Unique StarShine App is an app like no other! This App provides quicker and easier communication between yourself (as an Individual, Parent, or Guardian) and all your support network and specialists.
Through the App, you can personalise and manage all your important files and reports by storing them in one safe place. These can then be accessed and read at any time by yourself and all your nominated support networks (which is at your discretion).
On the App, you can easily share your goals and successes via Messages or NewsFeed and by posting photos and videos of outcomes and goals achieved that your support network can view at any time.
Unique StarShine Individual’s can share their likes, dislikes, triggers and also their medications/dosage on this App. This helps to assist their specialists, carers and support workers in helping to understand them more and what makes them tick, gain knowledge on what to avoid and to keep track of medications/dosages and when they are taken.
Unique StarShine App can also assist you to keep track of appointments and events that are vital in your life as well as having the ability to invite support workers to participate in these activities/appointments if needed.
Unique StarShine App is beneficial in helping you move forward to achieve goals of becoming more self-reliant and independent in the future.

As a Parent/Guardian you will need to navigate to the “My StarShines” tab. If you have more than one Unique StarShine – select which one you wish to start with from the dropdown list.

The information you have access to (files/folders) will be determined by what permissions the Parent/Guardian or Independent have given you for their files/folders (View and Edit or just View only).

These files can be kept completely private and confidential for only yourself to reflect on. Alternatively you also have the ability to share a file/sub folder (documents, images, information, reports, etc) with your clients if you wish.
For you to be able to edit and create files/sub folders within Unique StarShine profiles it will depend on what permissions the Parent/Guardian and Independant Individual grant you as their Practitioner, Health Professional, Specialist or Support worker.

This App has the capacity to send or post large documents – 50MB of data at a time. This includes files, documents, reports and scanned information.
Unique StarShine App has the ability to post or send images and video footage of up to 50MB at any one time per media file.
You have the ability to create unlimited folders to file away all your important documents.
Additionally this App also gives you the ability to create unlimited sub folders within each original folder.
Therefore, you have loads of room and ability to create, personalise and organise all of your Unique StarShine Individual(s) paperwork, files, reports and vital documents in an easy, accessible, manageable, safe place for your convenience.
Now you have the ability to carry with you all vital documents, ready to be able to send, post or reply to at the touch of a button, anywhere and at anytime.
After you complete the setup of your Unique StarShine profile you will want to invite your Support Workers, Practitioner, Professional, Specialists to be part of your Unique StarShine support network. To do this you will need to go into your profile, then select:
Unique StarShine App has numerous ways to communicate with different people in your network.
Yes. Once you have purchased the Unique StarShine App there a number of ways you are able to claim your purchase amount back through Government Disability funding – (eg. NDIS for Australians or NASC for New Zealanders).
Given that each Individual will be at a different stage in their disability funding plan, it is strongly suggested to speak to your plan manager if you have one managing your funds to determine the best way to allocate your funding.
As you may be aware of, within the different Government Disability Funding/Benefits system, supports for participants fall under different Support Purpose categories: eg. in Australia under NDIS there are supports for CORE, CAPITAL and CAPACITY Building.
One way in which the App can be claimed would be out of “Consumables” which falls under the “Core Budget” section of your funding, or it may also be available under “Assisted Technology”.
There are other ways within Government Disability Funding that could be available but it is best to speak to one of your Specialists or Plan Manager as they would be aware of your individual needs, plans and goals.
It is advised to speak with one of your Specialists, Therapists or Allied Health Professionals about the App and the benefits it will have for yourself and them in all areas of communication and managing reports and information. This way they can also place their recommendations forward in a letter/email for you to have if your management planner or if the Government Disability Funding are in need of any supportive correspondence for the purchase of Unique StarShine App.
For full access to all the Unique StarShine App features, including unlimited data storage an annual subscription for 1 Unique StarShine is $199.99. If you have 2 Unique StarShines under your care the price is $379.99 for the year, saving $19.99. For an annual subscription for 3 Unique StarShines or more the total price continues to increase in total savings.
As mentioned above in previous question, this subscription can be claimed via your Government Disability Funding/Benefits/Support (eg. NDIS for Australians and NASC for New Zealanders) if you already have a managed plan. The easiest and best course of action would be to talk to your Plan Manager about the Unique StarShine App, how it will help support you and save you time in communication and managing files/reports with your whole support network. Plan Managers will be aware of your individual needs, plans and goals and be able to assist in which area of your funding can be utilised best.
For full access to all the Unique StarShine App features, including unlimited data storage the Unique StarShine App is currently free to use for Practitioners, Health Professionals, Specialists and Support Workers. Unique StarShine aims to have a web design to cater more for your needs in the not-too-distant future. Once this is available there will be a minimal fee (tax deductable) for an annual subscription, but until then the App will remain free of charge for you.
You may have noticed after creating and accepting appointments or events from either Parents/Guardians/Independant Individuals or Practitioners/Health Professionals/Support Workers – that on the calendar there may be both stars and circles that appear on the dates.
This is to make it easier for you to coordinate your routine at a glance and to know if it was yourself that initiated the appointment/event or if it was someone else that made it for you.
Stars – representative of the Unique StarShine Individual appointments that have been made and created by their Parent/Guardian or themselves as an Independent Individual.
Circles – are representative of appointments or events that have been created and made by Practitioners/Health Professionals/Support Workers for their Unique StarShine clients.
No, not at all. When inviting a person from your support network – the Doctor, Specialist, Therapist, Carer will only be able to see the appointment(s) that they have been invited to or have made with the Unique StarShine.
There is no limit to how many Unique StarShine Individuals you can have access to once the Parent/Guardian or Individual invites you to have access (and permission) to their folders and documents. You can be a support person to as many Unique StarShine individuals as you wish.
As per the design, the Unique StarShine App needs to be used in Portrait (vertically) only – this is to ensure its authenticity and for it to remain proportional for usage.
Like any App or device, sometimes it takes a little extra time to load a photo or video or document depending on the file size.
To delete an entire conversation/chat you need to go into the chat.
